The Type 24 consists of two Type 23 buffer capsules combined into one buffer assembly to provide a longer 800mm stroke.
It is specially designed to be fully compressed at low speeds and is typically used as end stops for either rail or heavy crane applications, on both dockside and offshore applications.
The Type 15 buffer is a related unit, consisting of two Type 9 buffer capsules and offers a greater resistive force than the Type 24 when compresssed at low speeds.
