One of Britain’s Oldest Manufacturers Opens its Doors to Inspire Engineers of the Future Coventry manufacturer TA Savery, incorporating Oleo International and Savery Hydraulics has given pupils at Westwood Academy a glimpse into life as an engineering apprentice. The company can trace its roots back to the birth of the industrial revolution when founder Thomas Savery patented the first steam engine. More than three centuries later, the world leader in energy absorption hydraulics for industrial, elevator and train buffers is inspiring the next generation of British engineers.
