The Type 23 is a buffer specially designed to be fully compressed at low speeds and is typically used on port cranes.
This buffer was initially developed for overhead cranes in steel mills and is a high capaacity, long life unit.
The Type 23 is related to the Type 9 buffer which offers good all-round performance for a number of different applications and industries, including rail end stops, port cranes and the heavy machinery used in bulk material-handling.
