Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer

We are looking to recruit an experienced Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer to develop and maintain supplier quality standards to ensure that all products are manufactured to relevant international standards in line with business requirements.

The organisation has a low to medium volume, high variety product mix, including the precision manufacture of safety critical components and assemblies through to full system solutions. Strong focus on customer satisfaction is essential.

Description of duties:

• To assist in the control and improvement of supplier performance.
• To measure key supplier quality performance.
• To carry out planned product, process and systems audits at supplier premises.
• Focal point for supplier quality related issues.
• Undertake root cause analyses and identify solutions for supply chain issues. Ensure corrective and preventive actions are closed out by suppliers.
• Liaise with Design Engineering on new product development.
• Conduct regular reviews with key suppliers.
• Maintain supplier action logs.
• Internal Auditing.
• Work with the Purchasing team on new supplier introduction and approval.
• Clear communication (both verbally and orally) to all levels within the organisation on quality related topics.

Education and Experience:

• HND Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Time served apprentice.
• Internal Auditor qualification.
• Qualityengineering tools and techniques applied to machine shops.
• PPAP, APQP, SPC, FMEA.
• ISO9001/ISO14001.
• Demonstrable experience auditing and dealing with suppliers.
