OLEO International a trading division of TA Savery & Co Limited has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Head of IT to head up our IT department based at our manufacturing site in Coventry, responsible for IT across all global sites.
As a company we are a World leader in the design and manufacture of safety critical equipment used in a wide range of applications in the Rail, Elevator and Industrial sectors.
Purpose of the Role:
Reporting to the Chairman and Managing Director, the role will be responsible for implementing and maintaining global IT infrastructure strategy for the organisation. The Head of IT will manage the organisation’s IT operations and the implementation of new IT systems and policies, aligned to the organisation’s strategy.
Head of IT - Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain global IT infrastructure strategy, aligned to group’s business strategy and needs.
- Implement suitable customization befitting local needs of groups’ different global entities
- Ensure IT systems and people are effective and functioning within the limits of budget, time and specifications of the organisation
- Oversee all IT Infrastructure (including ERP system, CRM – Salesforce, operating platforms and telecommunication networks) and evaluate them according to established goals
- Negotiate with vendors / partners for best value services and technological equipment.
- Inspect the use of technological equipment and software to ensure functionality and efficiency
- Identify and recommend the need for upgrades, configurations or new systems
- Assist in building relationships with vendors and creating cost-efficient contracts
- Responsible for the group’s IT security and undertake a detailed risk management and mitigation exercise for group’s exposure on its IT systems and hardware.
- Devise and establish IT policies and systems to support the implementation of organisation strategies.
- Identify and evaluate key risks to group’s IT systems and hardware
- Develop and maintain the Major Incident & Business Continuity plan for IT and to implement measures designed to safeguard the Information Technology and Management needs of the Foundation in the event of major incidents or disasters.
- Lead and motivate organisation’s IT resources aimed at achieving high standards of performance
- Talent management of global IT resources and succession planning for key IT positions to provide security and continuity of services for the group.
Head of IT - Key Requirements
- A seasoned knowledgeable IT professional with sound infrastructure experience. With global manufacturing / engineering, multi-cultural / multi-currency environment.
- Possess a relevant IT qualification, with an evidence of professional development in an IT role
- Experience in IT infrastructure (networks, WAN/LAN, Server infrastructure, security, business systems (CRM, O365, PDM) and ERP systems.
- Experienced in working with QAD / MFG.Pro software. Experience of working within a company that utilises QAD software would also be acceptable.
- Demonstrable experience and evidence of success in an information management role with multiple stakeholder groups.
- Formal project management training and experience and knowledge of CRM data and database systems.
- Experience with CRM, PDM and BI solutions, and their integration into ERP systems.
- Understanding of data security and other compliance responsibilities
- Experience of commissioning services from third parties and managing relationships with suppliers and contractors. Contract negotiation and crisis management.
- Previous line management experience, both national and global.
- Experience of working with the ISO 27001 quality management system would be advantageous.
