TA Savery & Co Limited is a World leader in the design and manufacture of safety critical equipment used in a wide range of applications in the Rail, Elevator and Industrial sectors.
Due to substantial growth and increased demand for our energy absorption products, we are looking for an experienced Buyer who possesses experience in sourcing technical components / mechanical parts to join our purchasing team based in Coventry.
Job Purpose:
To efficiently manage the Purchase Requisition and Purchase Order process to ensure that services to Oleo International are delivered on time and to budget.
Buyer Key Responsibilities:
- Place orders for materials / services in line with company requirements
- Find potential suppliers, negotiate prices and terms
- Conduct supplier business reviews for approved vendors to strength and maintain key relationships, evaluating supplier performance and compliance to company parameters
- Maintain and update item price files by category, to ensure data accuracy of price breaks, lead-times, MOQ’s/ lot sizes
- Work with Operational planning and commercial functions to ensure Inventory levels are maintained and controlled in accordance with company cash flow objectives
- Work with Operations, PED and Engineering to control all non-inventory spend and set-up autonomous replenishment systems to maximise availability to support customer satisfaction expectations
- Monitor and report on PPV (Purchasing Price Variance) on a monthly basis
- Escalation point for past due MRP orders and/ or MRP order queries
- Provide procurement support for UK’s New Product Introduction plans
- Lead cross functional supplier reviews and corrective action process to improve OTD / COTD
- Lead cross functional supplier reviews and corrective action process to improve and maintain supplier Quality performance
Buyer Essential Requirements
- Possess an HND / Degree Level qualification in an engineering/ manufacturing
- CIPS qualified or working towards
- Experience in procurement gained within a manufacturing / engineering environment.
- MRP experience
- Excellent communication skills and experience working in cross functional teams
- Team player; willing & able to support colleagues
- MS Office proficient (Especially Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
- Working knowledge of PDM and workflow management
