Oleo launch new range of modular rail buffers at InnoTrans

7th September 2018

The International Trade Fair for Transport Technology (InnoTrans) is the world’s largest trade fair for the rail transport industry. Every two years experts and pioneers in the field gather at the Messe Berlin exhibition centre to view live demonstrations of railway vehicles on outdoor standard gauge railway sidings. The last exhibition saw 2,995 exhibitors from 41 countries, and this September Oleo International is proud to be one of them.

The InnoTrans exhibition has come at the right time for Oleo International, which will see the launch of a new range of modular energy absorption systems as the company continues to innovate in the rail sector. The new designs have been led by demands from customers in the rail industry who want to see more standardisation to reduce project costs and improve lead times. To achieve this, Oleo International has designed and developed a modular system reducing the requirement for custom parts for each individual project. This modular approach gives the customer a menu of standard parts that can be connected to create multiple assembly options, with the benefits of complete flexibility reducing testing time and one-off project costs.

The new buffers are also manufactured in the UK with quality and durability in mind. By keeping its manufacturing in-house, Oleo International is able to maintain full control and testing of its products, and the modular nature of the new designs allows the business to pass on reduced costs and shorter lead times to its customers.

The extended range of rail buffers in Oleo International’s portfolio makes it one of the few businesses in the world capable of delivering an all-encompassing rail safety solution - something which will no doubt further solidify its position as a market leader.

To engage and involve attendees at the exhibition, Oleo is preparing a display board showcasing all its products as magnetised 3D prints in miniature. This will allow guests to get a little more hands-on with the products and learn more about how they work, as well as reinforcing the fact that all rail couplers can be standardised from a modular base.

As part of the exhibition, Oleo International will also showcase its leading simulation software. Attendees will be able to see a demonstration during the four-day exhibition and even created their own impact scenarios.

The InnoTrans exhibition runs for four days between the 18th and 21st of September, kicking off with an opening ceremony with guests from the business, political and media communities. Oleo International will be in hall 1.2 at stand number 312 for the duration of the exhibition.
